LionCage Shredding partners with police to combat ID theft
The New York Police Department (NYPD) and LionCage Shredding, Cedarhurst, N.Y., have joined together to make destroying personal and potentially compromising information easier and more accessible. LionCage will make its Shred-Tech MDX-1 mobile shredding unit from its fleet available for public use on the first Sunday of each month.
The location of these New York City document-shredding stations will vary throughout the five boroughs in an effort to raise public awareness about ID theft and to provide easy access to secure document shredding throughout New York City.
The first public document shredding station took place at the Staten Island Mall Dec. 1, 2013, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
“It is our greatest pleasure to give back in this season of giving and we are committed to providing regular free events with the NYPD throughout the year all across New York City,” says Eli Rowe, CEO of LionCage Shredding. “LionCage Shredding is proud to work closely with the NYPD Crime Prevention Unit and Community Affairs in the fight for a safer, more trustworthy America.”
